Tenzin Sonam

Tenzin Sonam was born in Leh Ladakh, India. She finished her schooling from Tibetan Children Village Ladakh.
She received her Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Law (BA.LL.B)from J.S.S Law College, Mysore, Karnataka. She has a master’s degree in International Law from American University, Washington College of Law, specializing in Human Rights Law and Gender and Law. She is one of the recipients of the Tibetan Scholarship program funded by the US State Department’s Bureau of Educational & Cultural Affairs. Before joining the Tibetan Center for Human Rights and Democracy – North America, she worked for the Central Tibetan Administration in the Department of Information and International Relations as a Human Rights Officer.
