Who Are We.
Tibetan Center for Human Rights and Democracy – North America, is a 501(c) (3) non-profit founded and incorporated in October 2019 in the state of California. The Center is run by its Director and volunteers.
Our Mission.
Our mission is to protect the human rights of the Tibetan people in Tibet and promote the principles of democracy in Tibetan community.
What We Do.
Our work entails monitoring, researching, translating and exposing human rights violations to the international community. The center conducts regular, systematic investigation of human rights situation in Tibet and monitors human rights policies of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Every year, we bring out reports, thematic reports, testimonies of victims of human rights violations, newsletters, press releases and briefings on human rights issues that confront Tibetans inside Tibet.
In exile as an effort to create a culture of human rights and democratic practices among Tibetans, the center organizes workshops, talk series, public discussions and campaigns for students, activists, grassroots leaders, etc. The center also launches various campaign activities of national and international scope on specific human rights advocacy issues.
